Popular Tactical Gear FAQs
You’d be surprised when you check out the number of questions people have using a quick survey online. Most people just go by their gut instincts and grandpa’s war stories because there is so much misinformation available today.
Well, here are some questions and answers about tactical gear that are commonly asked.
- Can civilians own tactical gear?
The answer is yes. Human rights are under threat due to the rise in violence. Daily, there are more victims of some sort of violent act or another. Due to this, you will need ballistic protection when you encounter trespassers, burglars, robbers, or other forms of home invasions.
The most common protective gear among civilians is body armor and ballistic shields, aside from firearms and pocketknives. The body armor that you wear will provide you with excellent ballistic protection. Certain instances can, however, make them disadvantageous. You can only get limited coverage from body armor, for starters. It is also not that easy to put them on, especially under dire circumstances.
- Is every tactical vest bulletproof?
There is no such thing as a bulletproof vest. Instead, bullet resistant vests are available. It is true that bullet-resistant vests are not protective against all threats. It is impossible for anything to be bulletproof, not even manhole covers. The vests that are designed to stop bullets can get hit in an extremely small percentage of instances. There could be a serrated edge on the bullet or something similar. There is no such thing as a bulletproof vest that automatically gives you Superman powers.
- Is there any tactical gear I need in the wilderness to survive?
